Some warning signs happen near the beginning of a pregnancy, and some happen much later into the pregnancy.
Of course the first red flag should be the absence of a menstrual cycle. Although some symptoms have been known to rear there ugly head prior to missing your period, this is the first indicator for most women. If this occurs, most women will purchase a pregnancy test to either prove or deny suspicions of pregnancy.
There are times when the embryo implants itself into the uterine wall causing some cramping and spotting. On many occasions this has been mistaken for a period thus causing a women to think they have had a menstrual cycle when in actuality they are pregnant. Sometimes it is not until the second missed period that the pregnancy test is purchased. Fortunately with today’s technology a doctor can tell you exactly how far along you may be. Unfortunately, this may make it harder to terminate the pregnancy if you do not want to keep the fetus.

The lack of energy is also a very common complaint of pregnant women. This symptom can onset very early in a pregnancy and can be the determining factor in purchasing a test. Many women state that they feel their energy has been sucked from them and they cannot function on a day to day basis as usual. This sign is one that should not be ignored and can be the symptom of another problem if you are not pregnant.
Because everyone is so different in the things that they experience while pregnant it is very imperative that you visit an OBGYN if you think you may be pregnant. Many pregnant women don’t know the importance of doing exercises, not only is great for the development of the baby but it also help during the birth. Of course it is recommended to consult your doctor and let your doctor recommend which exercises are safe for you to do. You can set up a simple routine everyday, that is easy to follow and do, just taking 30 minutes a day of exercise can do a huge difference.
Many pregnant women don’t think exercising is a good idea, but the thing is exercises don’t have to be heavy or intense. Simple things like walking can make a huge difference, doctors recommend that pregnant women walk at least 30 minutes every day which will help with the delivery later. Exercises are very important from the first day of pregnancy to the last few weeks.
Some ideas are things like walking, stretching arms and legs, and simply staying active without carrying heavy things simply having an active routine. Certain exercises can help strengthen muscle groups that can help a lot during child birth because the body flexes many muscles during labor. Things like using a chair or bed for simple exercises can make a great difference.
Many doctors say that the better the health condition of the pregnant woman the less complications that are likely to happen during labor. Things like yoga and low impact aerobics are very helpful and strongly recommended by doctors because they ease the pregnancy pains and problems. A journal or routine that can be easily be remember and apply everyday is the best way to start.
It is important to understand that any change in lifestyle (diet, exercise, rest, etc …) generates a transition in which physiological and metabolic adjustments made. A sudden change could cause health risk adjustment. This will also help to know how to recover the energy you expend during exercise.

Starting a family

So you have decided to start a family. The first thing you want to know is how to get pregnant. Well research shows that the best way to get pregnant is to stay calm, relaxed and have plenty of sex. That may sound like the obvious thing to say but many couples get caught up in trying to time the conception to the exact moment that they actually miss it.
From the moment you decide that you want to have children to week 12 of your pregnancy the women should be taking daily folic acid tablets. These tablets have been shown to reduce birth defect such as cleft lip and palate and spina bifida, a defect in the spinal cord. As the spinal cord is one of the first things to grow in your baby’s development and folic acid has been shown to help produce new cells in the embryo then a healthy supply of folic acid from you is essential to minimise defects in the spinal cord.
One of the most important tools in knowing how to get pregnant is understanding how the female monthly fertility cycle works. If you are regular in your periods then begin counting day one of your period as day one. When you get to day 10 you will be at the earliest point at which you will ovulate. Ovulation occurs when the female’s egg is released from the ovaries into the fallopian tubes. The period between ovulation and the day before your period is called the luteal stage and in most females this phase lasts 14 days.
An ovulation calendar will help you effectively predict when you are ovulating. The normal ovulation calendar is based on a regular 28 day menstrual cycle with a 14 day luteal phase. Once you have used your ovulation calendar you will know the perfect time to get pregnant. Advice from leading experts recommends that you should have sex every other day starting at day 10 of your cycle to maximise your chances of getting pregnant.
Another way of increasing your chances of getting pregnant is to monitor your basal body temperature. This is your resting temperature and you can monitor it by taking your temperature at the same time every day when you first wake up. It is important to take your temperature before you do anything else be it speak, drink or get up. When you have ovulated your basal body temperature will remain raised for about 3-4 days due to an increase in progesterone when you ovulate. If your basal body temperature is recorded over a longer period with the use of an ovulation calendar it can help predict when you are ovulating.
Now you know how to get pregnant what are those all important early signs of pregnancy to look out for. The obvious early signs of pregnancy include morning sickness, although this can happen throughout the day, increased desire to urinate, tenderness in your breasts and cramping or minor bleeding due to the embryo implanting itself in your uterus. If you have been monitoring your basal body temperature you may notice that it stays raised after the normal 2 to 3 day period for as long as 2 weeks and when coupled with an increase in the levels of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) can be early signs of pregnancy. Although to confirm a raise in hCG you will need to do a pregnancy or blood test to confirm its presence in you urine or blood.
Given that your baby will obtain all the vitamins, minerals and nutrients essential for healthy growth from you then it goes without saying that you should be eating a healthy well balanced diet throughout your pregnancy. A healthy diet during pregnancy should contain 2 portions of protein, 3 to 4 portions of grains, a pint of dairy, 5 portions of fruit or vegetables and 6 to 8 glasses of water every day. This may feel like a lot to eat, especially when suffering from morning sickness, so it is advisable when pregnant to eat little and often to avoid feeling to full.
The final point to remember when you are trying to conceive is that although you now know how to get pregnant sometimes it can take time, up to 2 years for a perfectly healthy couple. A couple who are aged 20-25 may take up to 5 months before conceiving whereas a couple who are aged between 30 and 35 could take even longer at around 9 months being the average. This is because every time you ovulate and hence every month you only have around a 1 in 4 or 5 chance of actually conceiving.

The Importance of Name Selection for Twins and Other Multiple Order Births
June 21, 2011 by Terri Piontkowski
Expectant parents have a lot to do to prepare for the arrival of their little one (or ones as the case may sometimes be). One of the most time consuming and sometimes unattainable tasks is choosing a name. It is such an important part of a child’s identity and whatever you choose, your child will be stuck with for life. We worry that the wrong name may make it difficult for them to make friends, find a job, or live a full life. So it is no wonder that there are books and websites dedicated to the subject, and that so many people (mostly moms) seem to be using them.
Sometimes there is already a name or two that one or both parents have their hearts set on. Hopefully they can agree on it and be on their way to figuring out the next dilemma. For many the search for a name is much more of a struggle. When one parent likes names like “Jane” and “George” and the other is drawn to “Annika” and “Kanye” it may be difficult to find middle ground. There is never a shortage of opinions. Everyone who knows a baby is coming wants to make a suggestion or at least have a vote on the names being considered. Then there are the dozens of websites to help you analyze the names on your list. It can all be a bit overwhelming.
My situation was more complicated as I was expecting triplets in my second pregnancy. I was having trouble finding a single name that was “the one” for me. I kept waiting for it to click and then I figured the other 2 names would flow from there. We finally had a tentative agreement and I was done. I wouldn’t even allow myself to keep considering names because I knew that I would start changing my mind and that the process would never end. I can’t believe there are people who wait for their baby to arrive and then decide what name fits. I need to plan. Not knowing ahead of time what I was going to name my 3 babies would have put me into a full panic.
Now that my triplets are 8 months old, I am very happy with the names we chose. Once in a while I come across a name that I like and I wonder if maybe I would have liked that better. But when I try to picture my baby with the new name, even if it is a great one, it just won’t fit. Their names are now a fixed part of their identities for me. It’s like they were born with their names printed on the bottom of their feet so I would know what to call them. To change their names now would be like changing their faces. I’m sure this would have been the case no matter which names we had selected, but the fact that we chose the names especially for each baby is what makes them perfect.
I apologize if this article didn’t lead you immediately to your perfect name choice. It would be great if it were that easy. But whatever you choose, you really can’t go wrong. You have a right to follow your heart and to ignore anybody who doesn’t agree with your choices. Love the name you choose and your child will learn to love his or her name as well. Then when your child is a good citizen that name will be come to provoke respect and admiration.
Looking to find the best information on multiple babies, then visit www.babyclusters.com to find great advice on raising triplets for you.
