Lumbar pillows make a very kind and thoughtful gift for any pregnant woman. Pregnancy is one of life’s miracles. There are many wonderful things about this time in a womans’ life. There are also many aches and pains that come on suddenly and for seemingly no reason. Many women find that they spend the better part of those nine months aching more often than not. It doesn’t have to be that way thanks to these wonderful pillows.

Back pain is a very common complaint during pregnancy. Since women are bound to gain weight while pregnant, their center of gravity shifts. This forces them to use muscles in a different way than they are accustomed to. Lumbar pillows help to support the lower back and release the extra strain cast onto muscles in other parts of the back.

It is recommended that you don’t sit down for more than 30 minutes without some type of rest. The time goes down to 10 to 15 minutes if you are pregnant. Sometimes, especially if you are working and a mom-to-be, it cannot be avoided. This is when these pillows can come in handy.

Many people do not maintain good posture while sitting. But pregnant women find that it is hard to be comfortable at all while seated, much less maintain good posture. Lumbar pillows are one of the easiest ways to remedy this. One little pillow can truly make a world of difference.

Once women enter the second trimester of pregnancy, they should not sleep on their back. In this position, the weight of the uterus presses down on a major vein that returns blood to the heart from the lower extremities. This can cause serious problems to the baby. It also puts pregnant women at a disadvantage since laying flat on your back is usually recommended to help with back pain.

The best bet is to prevent back pain before it gets out of control. In addition to using lumbar pillows while sitting, pregnant women should also place one between her legs while she sleeps. This helps reduce lower back pain and discomfort in the pelvis area.

Even though back pain caused by pregnancy normally goes away after giving birth, the usefulness of these pillows will still remain. Thanks to their small design, they can be great when having to nurse your baby.

Don’t hesitate in giving these away as gifts to your friends or family members that are having baby showers. They will truly appreciate you for the lumbar pillows.
