How Can A New Mum Become Slim Again After Pregnancy?

The problem many new mums are faced with is the question of how to become slim again after pregnancy and it is a very common problem. A once trim and firm body can appear to be left out of shape and flabby in those wonderful 9 months.
It’s kind of different to the usual cry for help to become slim because it is one of those ‘unavoidable’ consequences and not really self inflicted at all. No body would ever say to a soon to be mum ‘stop eating so much’ because it is all part and parcel of being pregnant. A healthy appetite is good for the mum and also good for the baby and so if the result means adding on a few stone then so be it.
This is all fine during pregnancy, but what happens to all this extra weight once the duration of the pregnancy ends and the baby arrives? Well, as everyone is aware, it takes some shifting and although mums main priority is with keeping baby happy it is important for her to keep healthy and also to try and get back to being slim again as soon as possible. Although there is bound to be an increase in general activity this is not always enough to remove this excess body fat. Routine and diet can go out of the window for a few months.
So what can help a new mum to become slim again after a pregnancy?
Well we have already mentioned trying to get into a regular eating routine and diet, so try not to snack too much, but if you do try and keep healthy snacks to hand, such as fruit and nuts or salad and wheat crackers. Do your best not to resort to the easy option of indulging in fast foods.
It is common knowledge these days, or should be, that sugary drinks are very bad for a healthy diet and becoming slim. Try to replace them with either water or flavored water. Fruit juice does provide vitamin C but is also quite high in sugar content so drink sparingly.
Finally you can try and find a small slot, even 15-20 minutes per day to do some light exercise such as sit up to just try and regain some tone. Toning your body again also makes you look slim again. There are other simple ways to increase exercise such as walking to the local store with baby in a buggy or maybe carrying baby in a sling occasionally.
