There are many things that you can do when trying to get pregnant that can help you to fall pregnant faster. You can chart your temperature to find out when you ovulate, you can get healthy by eating good foods and exercising and you can take fertility supplements. This article will look at four top vitamins and herbs that can help improve your fertility.
Vitex (Agnus Castus / Chasteberry)
Vitex, which has even been called the natural Clomid, is a great herb for balancing your reproductive hormones. It is often the first supplement that women take to improve their fertility and has helped many women fall pregnant who previously had difficulty.
It’s safe enough to take throughout your entire cycle, although you should stop once you have a confirmed pregnancy. It does take a few months to really impact your hormone levels though so keep taking it for a least three months to see the best benefit.
Vitamin B6
Many women swear by Vitamin B6 in increasing their fertility. Another vitamin that is safe to take throughout your entire cycle, Vitamin B6 helps to balance hormones, increase progesterone and improve cervical fluid.
Many women are deficient in B6 without knowing it and that can cause an excess of estrogen in the body making it difficult to conceive.
It is recommended that you start with around 50mg a day for the first month and see if you notice any changes in your body or cycle.
Dong Quai (Angelica Sinensis Root)
If you have circulation problems then Dong Quai will be able to improve that, especially when it comes to the reproductive system. This is why it’s beneficial to fertility because you need good blood movement to carry the necessary hormones through the blood stream during the various phases of your cycle.
Evening Primrose Oil
Evening Primrose Oil (EPO) is great for improving your cervical fluid and helping you get egg white cervical mucus which is considered the most fertile cervical fluid that you can have. It should only be taken in the first half of your cycle until you ovulate.
How to Conceive a Girl Baby

If youve been doing any research online to improve your chances of conceiving a girl then you no doubt have found that most of the different methods are contradictory. Some claim you should have sex as close to ovulation as possible for a girl and others suggest trying to conceive at least 5 days before and no sooner. So which method is right?
This article will look at some of the more popular gender selection methods for conceiving a girl and their success rates so you can decide which one is best for you.
Shettles Method
The Shettles method is probably the most popular gender selection method that most couples attempt when the start trying for a girl or boy baby. It relies on timing depending on your ovulation day. For a girl, Shettles recommends that you have lovemaking around three to five days prior to your ovulation day so that the female sperm (who tend to live longer) have an increased chance of getting to the egg first.
Shettles devotee’s admit that it isn’t guaranteed however, and only say that you have a 77% chance of getting a female child.
Method: Whelan
When it comes to timing, the Whelan method is the exact opposite of when the Shettles Method says you must do your lovemaking. The Whelan method says that to get a girl baby you should have intercourse on the day you see your temperature rise (you need to chart your basal body temperature for this method to be successful) as that gives the best chance of falling pregnant with a female child.
The success rate for the Whelan method is claimed to be around 57% for a girl.
O+12 Method (ovulation plus twelve method)
Becoming more popular with women trying for a girl baby is the O+12 method which states that you should have intercourse around twelve hours after you believe you have ovulated to get pregnant with a girl. This method was developed by a New Zealand lady after she had six unsuccessful attempts at trying for girl (she had boys each time) using the Shettles method.
This method is somewhat hard to implement because it relies on knowing the exact moment that you ovulate (unless you have an ultrasound machine handy – this can be difficult to determine), however devotee’s claim a very high 90% success rate.
Conceive A Boy Baby Naturally

Gender selection is becoming more and more common in society as couples try and conceive either a boy baby or a girl baby or at least put the odds of having their chosen child in their favour. This article will go over how you can have a boy baby naturally using the Shettles Method, which favours timing sex close to ovulation.
First off I need to let you know that trying for a baby boy is a lot more fun then trying for a girl. For a start its encouraged for the women to have an orgasm during sex (or immediately after) as this not only helps move the sperm up and into the cervix, but also changes the vaginal environment to more alkaline which favors the male sperm.
Your aim to get a boy baby is to have sex as close to your ovulation day as possible so that the fast moving boy sperm will be able to reach the egg first and therefore dramatically increase your odds of having a boy baby.
Obviously for this method to work correctly you’ll need to know when you ovulation in your cycle as timing is crucial. If you aim for your lovemaking to occur on your ovulation day or within a few hours of releasing your egg the fast moving sperm will get their first.
You can determine your ovulation day by using ovulation predictor kits or charting your temperature, or even using one of the new saliva monitors if thats easier for you.
Once your ovulation day has been determined, you will know that lovemaking then will increase your odds of that male sperm fertilizing an egg which will give you that boy baby you’ve been praying for.
Another thing that will help improve your odds of getting a male child is by using sexual positions that place the sperm right at the tip of the cervix so that the fast moving male sperm doesn’t have as far to travel. The doggy position (rear entry) has the best success rate of getting a boy for this reason.
Therefore if you are trying for a boy baby, then you need to take into account the following three factors: 1. timing intercourse as close to ovulation as possible 2. using positions that deposit sperm close to the cervix, and 3. altering the pH levels to more alkaline.
