For most women morning sickness usually begins between the fourth and sixth week of pregnancy. It typically last for about eight to twelve weeks and for the majority of women is completely gone by week sixteen. No one knows the exact cause of morning sickness. However, it is believed that it is brought about by the rapid physical and hormonal changes occuring in the body.
Morning sickness lasts on average eight to twelve weeks. But these eight to twelve weeks can be very challenging for the expectant mother.

There are different ways that you can use ginger for morning sickness. They are:
Tea – Boil some ginger root in hot water to make a tea. The tea will help calm your stomach and reduce the feeling of nausea.
Powdered Ginger – For immediate relief from morning sickness, eat 1/2 teaspoon of powdered ginger followed by a glass of water.
This method seems to bring relief quicker than drinking tea.
Ginger in Tablet Form – You can also find relief from morning sickness by using ginger in table form. The only difference is there may not be as high a concentration of ginger in the tablets that you would find in the powder or ginger root.
Ginger has been used successfully by many expectant mothers to help control their morning sickness.
If you do use ginger be sure to limit your intake to no more than 1 gram per day.
