My Partner’s Pregnancy Timeline

July 20, 2010   Filed under pregnancy

I am writing this because I have found a lack of information about the pregnancy timeline from a male’s point of view. My girlfriend is pregnant with our first child and it is something that we are very happy about. She is now over 3 months gone.

Early on in the pregnancy timeline it is quite easy. I mean very early on. Soon though your partner will be showing pregnancy symptoms which will have an impact on you and your relationship. I hope that by forewarning you about them that you should be able to cope with it better.

OK, so what are some of the symptoms that she is showing? The most common that women have on the pregnancy timeline is morning sickness. Morning sickness is not something that is restricted to the mornings and can happen throughout the day. My girlfriend wasn’t actually sick but was retching a lot. Having something to eat helped her.

My girlfriend had a massive drop in energy levels. She started to feel tired all of the time. This had an effect on her routine meaning that she would get up later each day. Although that tiredness is a problem it is still important that your partner tries to maintain their normal daily routine for as long as she can.

It is not just in the mornings that this happens. After work it seems that she just lies on the sofa all evening! This will change as you go further along the pregnancy timeline but you may have to start shifting some activities like housework.

There are other symptoms that will affect your partner. We are only just starting our second trimester so I won’t be able to list everything but you should expect backaches, headaches, constipation, mood swings and other weird cravings. By the end of the pregnancy and you have your little baby in your arms then it will all be worth it.

Dave’s partner is keeping her own website about her pregnancy timeline. If you would like to know more and to be prepared on your pregnancy timeline then visit her site.
