Becoming pregnant is one of the most life-changing events a woman goes through. These changes effect women physically, mentally, and emotionally. So obviously you are not going to be the same person you were before. However, it is important for you sanity to keep a little bit of your old self alive. This can be done by keeping up with your style, with a few modifications of course!
Truthfully, it is actually “in-style” to be pregnant these days. So the good news is that there are a lot of options out there for maternity style. The important thing is that you will now have to start dressing modestly. When pregnant women dress like they are going to the club every night – it is just no attractive at all.
Switching to modesty does not mean turning off the sexy factor. However, the definition of sexy does change. As a general rule bellies need to be covered up. More likely than not the tops you were wearing before are not going to cover up your new baby bumb.
Obviously, rule number one in maternity fashion is comfort. Physically your body is already uncomfortable and your clothes do not need to add to that problem. The simplest change you can make in your wardrobe is to substitute your old tops with maternity t shirts.
Your old cute shirts are jst not going to fit over your belly. And just getting bigger t shirts is not flattering at all. However, maternity t shirts get bigger only in the places that you need them too, which is the most flattering.
It is not always necessary to invest in a maternity wardrobe. After all, you are only pregnant for nine months and your body is not even the same size throughout the pregnancy. It is possible to buy regular clothes made out of stretchy materials.
Cute accessories can also be used to make old clothes more appropriate for pregnancy. Use things like scarvs and cardigans if necessary.
Fashion is a good way for women to keep a sense of who they were before the pregnancy. A little bit of effort can go a long way with maternity style.
