Using Mineral Makeup: A New Trend in Cosmetics
Mineral Makeup is a new cosmetic trend that emphasizes natural health and being eco-friendly by using organic ingredients. Mineral makeup is mostly made up of natural minerals. It does not contain any chemicals, additives, animal byproducts, talc, oil, synthetic fragrances, and other manufactured skin irritants. Mineral makeup is made by pulverizing sterilized minerals into a fine powder that is mixed with natural pigments to produce various shades.
Synthetic ingredients have a negative impact on the skin causing such problems as acne, blackheads, clogged pores, skin irritations, and dry skin. As well, some artificial colors are known as carcinogens. With mineral makeup, there is a significantly reduced risk of allergic reactions and acne break outs. The minerals in the makeup consist of titanium dioxide, zinc oxide, and iron oxide. Iron oxide gives color to the makeup. Titanium and zinc are a natural anti-inflammatory, and titanium dioxide is a natural sunscreen and provides an SPF of 15 to 20.
Most mineral foundations consist of a foundation, concealer, powder and sunscreen. It is great for women with sensitive skin as it provides enhanced skin care. Manufactured makeup tends to be heavy on the face and can cake up on the skin. Mineral makeup’s texture is lighter, more natural, and allows your skin to breathe. It is based on a hypoallergenic loose powder that naturally nourishes and protects the skin.
Mineral makeup does not enhance wrinkles like traditional powders. If you have fine lines, wrinkles, or crow’s-feet, the minerals will not accentuate them, but instead, aid in smoothing and covering them up. As well, it is rich in vitamins, antioxidants and ingredients that hydrate the skin and conceal wrinkles. The result is silky, soft, smooth, and healthy skin with a youthful and glowing appearance.
There benefits of wearing mineral make over manufactured mass produced makeup are numerous. It does not harm and aggravate the skin with damaging chemicals, oils and chemical additives. As well, it does not obstruct the skin’s pores or create a breeding ground for bacteria, and it protects the skin from damaging UVA rays. It provides the wearer with a natural appearance.
Mineral makeup is fast becoming the new beauty and skin care product choice in industry as the ingredients benefit the skin. Most women report that wearing mineral makeup feels like they are not wearing any makeup at all. The minerals benefit the skin as they soothe and alleviate itchy, inflamed, red, bruised, and flaking skin. It also cools the skin and promotes quicker healing time. It will not aggravate your skin even if you sleep while wearing it. As well, it is an affordable way to nourish your skin and get the same quality of skin texture as you would in an expensive spa.
Mineral makeup has transformed the cosmetic industry. It used to be only available at chic spas, but now mineral makeup is available to everyone. In the past few years, mineral makeup has become extremely popular with women of all ages. Wearing mineral makeup will make you look and feel fantastic.
Points to Consider if you are Ready to Have a Baby

Just as soon as you move into your own place, parents will often ask if you are planning to get married. Once you do get married, then your parents start asking when you and your new spouse are planning to have their grandchildren. They look forward to having grandchildren to spoil, show off to their friends, then send home to you. Although grandchildren are wonderful, take note that you are the one that will be caring for your baby, regardless of how much support you receive from your parents. You need to be prepared.
Your current and future career plans are a major consideration when planning for a baby. Forming an established, prosperous career can take many hours of hard work. If this is your aspiration, you should endeavor to reach your career goals first and consider your family later. Many people are able to juggle the two effectively, so it will depend on your particular career demands.
What your spouse wants should be key to deciding on whether to wait for children or if you are ready now. Many times, one partner will want children now, while the other partner will want to wait for a period of time for whatever reason. It could be due to work commitments or that they just want to spend time with you for now. Regardless of the reasoning, communication is vital to your relationship, especially where babies an building a family are concerned.
Taking a serious look at your financial situation will help any misgivings later in starting your family. In the beginning of a marriage, young people may not have that much money so its important to decide what you consider a stable financial situation will be for your family and work to strive that before jumping right into having a baby. However, if you wait forever to get your finances straight, you may never have children. Just know where you are going with your finances and make your plans on how to get there, while including starting a family in those plans.
All parents want to give their children everything in their power, but it’s almost an impossible thing to do and could cause problems in the long run. If you decide you want to wait for a family until you have the perfect financial situation, you may be waiting forever, and never have children. It’s perfectly fine to wait though, until you and your spouse are ready. You want a child to bring love and joy to your life, rather than a feeling of feeling stuck and regretting that you had children too soon, or that you were not ready. Whatever you decide, the decision is yours, not your parents, family or friends. They will have to wait until you are ready.
Newer Stretch Marks - What Is The Best Method Of Prevention?

Stretch marks aren’t harmful, but they can be embarrassing and a pain to deal with. Most women will get them at least once in their lives, and stretch marks can be caused by a lot of things- like gaining weight suddenly, getting pregnant, or not having enough moisture in your skin and the air around you.
You may be wondering why people get stretch marks. Stretch marks are formed when the top layer of skin is stretched too far, and the skin tears. As these tiny tears heal, scar tissue forms and the area is left wrinkled and misshapen. For most people, they will fade as years go by, but sometimes they just won’t go away. Many resort to surgical procedures to get rid of stretch marks, but they can often be prevented by maintaining your weight, and taking good care of your skin.
The other reasons that someone may get stretch marks are: extremely dry skin, continued cycles of weight gain and loss, and malnutrition. All of these things can make the collagen and elastin in your skin deteriorate, and your skin will be less resilient- leading to stretch marks. Read a little further for some good tips on treating and minimizing stretch marks.
Exercise on a regular basis. It increases circulation to all parts of the body (including the skin, keeping it supple and toned). A workout that makes you break a sweat keeps your pores clear of toxins, which will stimulate the skin’s natural renewal process.
Also, a good workout will balance your hormone levels, and make you less stressed. We all know that out-of-whack hormones and stress can wreak havoc with our skin, but that can be fixed through regular exercise.
Moisturize well, and often. Use a moisturizer that has Vitamin E- it can stop stretch marks before they start. Look for a moisturizer that has a lot of shea or cocoa butter, and apply it at least twice a day, right after you shower. Your skin will be silky and resilient.
Eat a diet rich in lean protein (like chicken and fish), fruit, and vegetables. Drink lots of water to keep your skin hydrated, and reduce or eliminate your use of tobacco and alcohol. Choose foods rich in vitamins, antioxidants, and minerals. These steps will induce your skin’s natural renewal, reducing stretch marks and making for more resilient skin.
If all else fails, opt for laser treatments. We all know what wonders they can work on the skin of the face, but lasers work well on skin on other parts of the body, too. For example, the Fraxel treatment will simply remove the uppermost layer of skin, where stretch marks form. Then you will develop a new, fresh layer of skin over the next few weeks, and your stretch marks will most likely disappear.
Cosmetics that are fortified with vitamins, moisturizers and minerals can work well as a skin treatment. Products that contain Vitamin A and Vitamin E are great at preventing stretch marks from forming, or to minimize the appearance of those that are already there.
Herbal remedies are a safe and natural way to improve the skin’s elasticity and smoothness. Preparations with olive oil, natural Vitamin E, aloe vera and Vitamin A work best when they are applied directly to the affected area. All of these ingredients work to moisturize the skin, making it more supple and strong.
Home remedies, while not as quick acting as a surgical procedure, can and do provide results. Things like oatmeal and egg whites will over time make stretch marks less noticeable, and new skin will grow in. With these slower-working remedies, you must be consistent to see results.
While there’s no surefire way to prevent all stretch mark cases, most can be reduced through healthy diet and an active lifestyle. Stretch marks are something most of us will have to deal with at some time, and treatments ranging from surgery to natural remedies all help to manage them and keep skin looking great.
Breaking your Smoking Habit

One of the hardest things to do in life is to quit smoking. The habit of smoking itself is often cited by most people as being the hardest part. Try replacing your smoking habit with a much healthier habit to aid in quitting smoking for good. Also, it’s important to remember that it will take time to get use to your new healthy habit just as it took time for you to get use to smoking.
If you are determined to quit smoking, you have made an impressive start. However, if you have decided to quit on your own, you are doing even better. Sounds strange does it? You would be surprised at just how many people decide to quit smoking by being informed by their doctor, spouse, parent, sibling or friend that they will be quitting. In order to successfully quit smoking for good you need to decide for yourself to quit. If you have actually made this decision on your own, you are doing an amazing job. If you are letting someone push you into quitting you are just setting yourself up for headaches, hassles and complications that are easily avoided.
A developed pattern in the way one smokes is something every smoker has. If you start smoking a pack a day, this becomes one of your habits. Breaking your smoking habit wil be easier if you start out with small steps. Success wil come if you change your habits slowly. Instead of smoking your usual cigarette after a meal, try brushing your teeth. You may realize you like the fresh mouth over the cigarette tasting one and this soon becomes a healthy habit. Chew gum or suck on hard candy if you are not able to brush your teeth after a meal.
You might find yourself in circumstances that trigger cigarette cravings. Of course, it is best to try to avoid these situations but sometimes that is impossible. Try to have an alternative to smoking if you can. For example, if you smoke right after work, carpool with others that don’t smoke, take a different route home, stop at the store, or take the bus. Also if getting in your car triggers cravings, have it detailed to get the smoke smell out. Just try to do something different to help you forget your cravings and they will soon pass.
Often times you will find yourself in positions that will make breaking your smoking habit difficult. By having a way to deal with these unavoidable times, you will be one step closer to quitting. Two of the popular methods for this include nicotine gum and stop smoking sticks. The nicotine gum is beneficial in public places and can be discreet. The stop smoking sticks are basically pretend cigarettes that keep your hands busy. If you find these helpful, you may be smoking more just because your hands are bored. Give your hands something more productive to do and this may at least help some of your smoking issues.
Breaking your smoking habit is a difficult process. It is likely to take you anywhere from a couple of weeks to several months to be cigarette free. Try cutting back on how many cigarettes you smoke daily if quitting cold turkey seems impossible. But regardless which method you choose, it will take time and effort for it to work. It takes on average 2 weeks to get use to a new habit and just as long if not longer to quit a bad habit.
Hemroid Treatment: Stop the Pain

Well take a look at the most commonly effective ones here as there are many options when seeking hemroid treatment.
* To avoid or minimize constipation, eat plenty of fiber and drink lots of water. Difficult bowels would hurt the muscles aggravating your hemorrhoids.
* Hemroid symptoms are common to most nuts, coffee, alcohol, food tends to get worse all the hot dishes. One solution may be keep track of your diet to learn if you are eating something that is causing your hemroids irritation and then see if you get relief by eliminating that food for awhile.
* Apply ice to the area for ten minutes, then warm the area with a moist towel for twenty.
* Using unscented baby wipes is a better way then wiping or rubbing after bowel movement.
* Just sit or stand in one place without moving much.
* Bed rest will alleviate pressure on the sphincter muscles and allow your hemroids to heal if you are having a horrible flare up of your piles.
* Some find relief by taking a sitz bath several times a day, to do so you just soak the area in warm water for about 15 minutes.
* Cotton undergarments absorb all moisture (even from sweating), which will result in worsening hemroids.
* Since sweating can aggravate hemroid symptoms, you should wear cotton undergarments to help your skin stay dry.
* Zinc is considered to be a skin protectant which is commonly found in the baby diaper rash cream and which could be applied even for both to protect the delicate anal skin and as well as to prevent the itching from it too.
* Suppositories, such as Tucks and Preparation H are a hemroid treatment to be taken with extreme caution because they can cause damage to anal tissue with longer term use, and therefore should not be used for more then 7-10 days. At your drugstore youll also find hydrocortisone creams, which are anti-inflamitories and can help both inflammation and itching.
* Numbing sprays that help relieve the pain are offered in most drugstores.
Unfortunately, everyone is not helped by these treatments. It is common to still experience itching, burning, bleeding and pain from your internal hemroids even if you have tried traditional treatments. The treatment may cover the symptoms or temporarily relieve them but the Hermoids often come back. Rather then masking the symptoms, a true hemroid treatment is available.Don’t hesitate to approach an MD before starting any hemroid treatment.
Your Nutritionist: Too Fat to Fish?

This morning I got an email from an acquaintance who has just been diagnosed with Type II Diabetes. I really try not to read email first thing in the morning, because if I run across a good story like this one, I forget the time and don’t get on to other things.
John loves to eat and loves to drink beer. He is in his mid-fifties and weighs about 20-25 pounds more than he should, so he’s not exactly fat, but he’s certainly not thin either. With this new diagnosis of Type II Diabetes, he is going to have to make some lifestyle changes, if he knows what’s good for him.
John weighs about 225-230 and is 6′1″ His email said that his family practitioner recommended a nutritionist for him after she diagnosed him with diabetes. I think John could get back into shape in about three months.
John took his doctor’s advice and made an appointment with the nutritionist. Upon arriving for his appointment he was checked-in by a receptionist who really could be called obese — she was probably 250 pounds and maybe 5′5″
John thought it was a little odd that a nutrition clinic would have a lardass at the front door, but with all the crazy laws on hiring, he thought that maybe they didn’t have a choice.
He waited for about twenty minutes, before his name was called and he was ushered into a big office. Then the nutrionist arrived, and John was stunned. She was about 5′10″, but she weighed 300 pounds and not an ounce less, according to his story.
She started into her routine, and talked and talked, but John couldn’t hear anything. His mind kept asking him, “Why are the two people I have seen in this nutrition clinic so fat?”
The nutritionist got to the part where she was displaying plastic food to show John about correct portion sizes, but John could not keep silent. Finally he blurted out, “If you know so much about nutrition and the rules of dieting, why are you so overweight?”
The nutritionist stopped talking and looked stunned. Finally she said, as if she had not heard him, “What did you just say?”
So he repeated what he said, “If you know all the rules about dieting, why are you so fat?”
At this point the nutritionist flew off the handle, and started screaming at him, telling him to get out of her office immediately. He obliged, but didn’t think his question was out of line. The receptionist asked him if there was a problem, on his way out, and he said that someone apparently couldn’t handle her own advice.
John went back to see his family practitioner and told her what had happened. His doctor turned red and tried to hold back, but after a moment she just burst out laughing.
After that, John was told of some rules that he really had to pay attention to.
I recommend, as John’s doctor does, supplementation with pharmaceutical grade fish oil, especially for patients with Type II diabetes. Diabetes really ups the risk for cardiac issues, and although John does not have heart problems right now, his risk level is high. The pharmaceutical-grade fish oil is useful in the treatment of diabetes because it can help control lipid levels, particularly triglyceride levels. These levels are often elevated in patients with diabetes.
pharmaceutical grade fish oil is useful in treating other problems as well. It has been shown to lower the risk of cardiovascular disease and some types of cancers, and has been linked to mood improvement and good joint health.
Mood improvement is so important for Type II diabetes patients, who have a high risk of depression caused by the diabetes.
My friend John was right to question the nutritionist. It would be the same situation as getting advice from a pulmonologist who smoked.
Nutritionists need to walk the walk, not just talk the talk.
John told me she had two cases of Diet Coke on a shelf behind her, too (more fat people drink Diet Coke, than any other beverage.)
Don’t hesitate to get another opinion, especially in a situation like this, where you have reason to doubt the validity of what your practitioner is telling you, based on his or her own habits.
Smoking is Like A Smoking Gun For Heart Disease
April 22, 2009 by Zak Hart
Ignorance is no excuse to suffer from heart disease associated with smoking. For years doctors have tried to preach the dangers of smoking to the public, making the dangers widely known. Some people still choose to not take these warnings seriously. You may think it will never happen to you but is it really worth the risk?
Among the thousands of chemicals in cigarettes at least 60 of them are considered toxic to our bodies. Each time you inhale you are allowing these toxins to flow freely through your blood stream. Over time your body starts to show the affects of the toxins as your arteries begin to harden. Once this has happened your body is open to suffering from heart attacks, heart failure, and instant death.
Your body doesn’t care if you’ve smoked one pack of cigarettes, or three hundred, yet there are people that still ask if I smoke only two cigarettes a day am I still at risk? That’s like someone asking if I stand on the train tracks between 1pm and 2 pm am I still at risk of being hit by a speeding train.
There is no time limit on how long it will take your body to harden your arteries caused by smoking; this is why you should never start smoking to begin with. There is a higher risk factor for those who already have heart disease in their family.
Smoking not only increases your chances of heart disease, but also those whom you’ve smoked around. Each time you light a cigarette because you have that urge that you just have to have one think about all of the innocent people around you that you are exposing to your second hand smoke, they too will eventually suffer the same risks associated with your smoking. Is it really worth lighting up and getting that quick fix to risk the health of everyone you care about?
Women that smoke and take certain medications are at a higher risk of getting heart disease or suffering other unwanted medical conditions. The toxins in cigarettes that contribute to the build up of fatty deposits in the arteries are not listed on individual packs of cigarettes, because if they were people would be less likely to smoke knowing what they are inhaling.
You may choose to put yourself at risk of heart disease due to your smoking, but you should also consider those closest to you when you next consider when and where you are going to light that next cigarette. Quitting smoking is the only way to free you from the potential health risks associated with the habit.
Womens Health

Women tend to neglect their troubles and aches. They as well put off getting to the doctor or bearing routine tests that are urged one time every two or three years. The result is that their health usually gets a great problem as they get senior. There are some health worries that females confront as they they grow old. Among the most general are breast cancer, pelvic pain, menopause (which by itself is not a disease, just it comes with a server of troubles), cardiac prolems, endometriosis, sterility and numerous others.
Attending medico is ok. However, sometimes women need a priety more care, a little more focus, quite more counselling and realizing. Here is where womens health care clinics offer a valuable service. These are sound as they speciate not just in women health care, but as well the psychological science that accompanies these illness and their remedy and care.
The opinion of adult females everyplace the earth varies when it arrives to reproductive health. Some would lean to take the face of the conservative sphere and rest are to a greater extent loose. For a more liberal lady, carrying a stand on womens reproductive health matter could be really emotional.
It cannot be denied that nearly all women will want to return so much once they experience babies. In some cases, women will need to kick their aspirations and their vocations specially when their children would demand surplus care and attention as in for special kids. In most developing nations, topics on womens reproductive health make on a wider property because of impoverishment. Poverty in developing nations has the face of a woman corresponding to it.
You must hold in mind that a womens health care clinic is indeed as a proper friend; that is precisely wherefore you should visit them now and then. Women over 30 years of age should have periodic check-up at least once in every three years. Take this habit, and it might save your life.
Ensure the Wellness of Your New Baby

A new baby is a beautiful and indescribable blessing to any family. Months of preparation and anticipation lead up to a very climactic birth day. All is well it seems, mother and baby are doing wonderfully and in a day or two will head home. From the warm, safe and very recognizable, to the baby, environment of moms womb, what environment, what cocoon will provide your baby safety from here on out?
Unless you specify during pregnancy that your baby will be wrapped in only the safest and best 100% cotton organic materials possible you will receive lots of gifts in blankets and crib materials that will not be so supportive for a newborn. Let people know early on your preferences for organic and green. This will ensure safe and cozy crib bedding for your sweet baby. Why cotton and why organic?
Certain clothes, especially permanent press, wrinkle free and water resilient fabrics are dipped or sprayed in formaldehyde, which is also used as embalming fluid. Many fabrics on sofas, chairs and carpets are preserved with harmful chemicals such as formaldehyde. Formaldehyde has some alias names to look for: Formalin, Methanal, Methyl aldehyde, Methylene oxide, Morbicid acid and Oxymethylene.
Long term benefits will result from taking a stand for organic, especially next to your new precious baby. Remember that organic is different than merely meeting safety standards.
With constant contact, any person, and especially a small person will acquire sensitivities. These are simply put, allergies. Without constant mineralization and good enzymes, they will get progressively worse throughout life.
Sensitivities are what many call allergies. An allergic reaction can appear as benign as a slight skin rash, or unbearable dermatitis. Allergies can also come on unexpectedly as a life threatening asthma attack or anaphylactic shock. No need for scare tactics though; it is enough said that any of those aforementioned reactions are not what you want for a newborn infant or any person.
The best way to insure a healthy environment for the entire home, starting with baby is fine though, is to buy 100% cotton, organic and from a reputable company. There are many listed in the green directories, online and most search engines.
No parent knowingly wants to harm their child; and even with the best intentioned lifestyles there are always possibilities that as a child grows that he or she will be introduced to toxic materials. Good natural health and a healthy green environment is about creating strength, not a lifetime of protection. The best defense is a mineral-rich and enzyme-full diet, healthy support and respect for the environment.
Those babies and children who have a poor diet, rich in fast foods, sugars, hydrogenated fats and sodas will always be those that go to the doctor more, are diagnosed with strange diseases, labeled ADHD, etc. Not meant simply as a general statement, it is meant to emphasize what makes all the difference between a child that survives to adulthood and one that thrives to be a productive and vibrant part of society
Breast fed babies have a great lead into life when mom is a healthy eater. Whether prenatal or during breast feeding a woman should eat well so that her health can recoup post natal.
What to Do If You Suspect Allergies?
First of all you must stop all contact with the irritant whether it is a food, a fabric, an environmental contaminant such as air, water, etc. This is most crucial when dealing with allergic reactions suffered by the very young or the very old.
The body is equipped with digestive juice factories. Some are located in the mouth, some in the stomach, some juices that digest travel from the liver and pancreas through the hepatopancreatic duct to supply digestive help in the duodenum, the first part of the small intestine.
When the body is depleted of the juices it needs to digest, even proteins which could be building blocks, become instead boulders the body simply carries along until it has the capacity to rid itself of what has become a liability. At this crucial point 75% - 80% of all foods ingested should be raw or lightly cooked.
During times of allergy outbreak, and I would add always, dairy should be avoided completely, along with any food that looks white or colorless, processed meats, canned or pre-packaged foods and sugars. In addition, having a good naturopath or nutritional counselor will create the support the parent needs to do the right thing for children who struggle with health.
Precautions and Solutions
Creating Green Environments is going to be our best ally for the future. Begin small and add on something new each month.
Eating whole and natural creates whole Human Beings. If you are pregnant or newly into parenthood ” begin now. Begin throwing out dead foods and replace them one by one with live food. Make it a family quest and project. What fun!
Create an organic nursery for your organic and healthy baby. This is a new beginning for your entire family, no matter whether you are expecting child #1 or #5.
Look for whole and green everywhere. Expect the best and insist upon it. To Your Best Health, Ellen Valentine, CNC
